RF & Microwave PCB Contract Manufacturing

RF & Microwave PCB Contract Manufacturing

Bare RF and microwave boards need more than a material name. The stackup, copper profile, impedance structures, via construction, and fabrication process must work together.

We review those requirements, match the build to a suitable production facility, and remain accountable for technical review, quality, and delivery while our qualified partner fabricates the boards. Our history includes Rogers-family, PTFE-family, and hybrid RF/FR-4 constructions with controlled impedance and advanced via requirements.

We supply bare PCBs only and do not offer assembly, so we never compete with the assembly houses and EMS providers we supply.

Start With the Requirements

Send the stackup, exact laminate callout, or the electrical and thermal properties the construction must meet. We will review it before quoting.

Rogers, PTFE, and Hybrid RF/FR-4 Materials We Have Supplied

Our production records include hundreds of Rogers-family designs, including RO4350 and RO4003 constructions. They also include PTFE-family materials and hybrid constructions that combine RF laminates with FR-4.

A material family does not define the whole build. Core and prepreg availability, copper roughness, Dk test method, operating frequency, and lamination sequence can all change the result.

How We Handle Material Alternatives

We do not treat two data-sheet values as proof that materials are interchangeable. If the exact laminate is unavailable, the proposed alternative must be assessed against the properties that matter to your design.

  • • Dk and Df, including test method and frequency
  • • Tg, Td, CTE, moisture absorption, and thermal conductivity
  • • Core, prepreg, glass style, and copper-profile availability
  • • Required approvals, quantity, lead time, and process constraints

A Supplied Construction Example

A supplied multilayer hybrid low-loss build combined controlled impedance, blind vias, and ENIG.

Details are anonymized and describe manufacturing attributes only.

What to Include With an RF PCB Quote

  • Exact laminate callout or approved-equivalent policy
  • Complete layer stackup and finished thickness
  • Operating frequency and loss requirements
  • Impedance targets, tolerances, and reference layers
  • Via construction, backdrill, and fill requirements
  • Quantity, delivery target, and required approvals

RF and Microwave PCB Contract Manufacturing Questions

Can Shipco supply Rogers PCBs?

Yes. Our supplied-job history includes hundreds of designs using Rogers-family materials, including RO4350 and RO4003 constructions. We confirm the exact grade, construction, and current availability for each quote.

Can Shipco supply hybrid RF/FR-4 stackups?

Yes. Our production records include supplied hybrid RF/FR-4 designs. Send the complete stackup, material callouts, Dk and Df requirements, copper profile, and impedance targets for review.

Can RF boards include controlled impedance or blind vias?

Yes, where the complete construction is manufacturable. Our supplied history includes RF-laminate designs with controlled impedance and with blind or buried vias. We review the required tolerances and via structure for each design.

What happens if the exact RF laminate is unavailable?

We compare proposed alternatives against the properties that matter to the design, including Dk and Df test methods, operating frequency, thermal properties, copper profile, approvals, and construction availability. A substitution is proposed for approval, not treated as automatic.

Does Shipco assemble RF PCBs?

No. Shipco supplies bare, unpopulated PCBs only. We do not offer assembly, so we do not compete with the assembly houses and EMS providers we supply.
